God-Blessed Friendships

The Super Bowl took place on Sunday, February 5th. It was arguably the greatest Super Bowl game ever played, and the first game to go into overtime in the game's storied history. Food was prepared, far too much soda was consumed, and cookies were devoured.

But an amazing thing also took place in the western part of Knox County, Tennessee; people had conversations, played board games, and got to know one another. Regardless of background, regardless of race, regardless of gender or political leanings. "God is bigger than race, and humanity is larger than politics." (Hallerin Hilton Hill)

Friendships are being made that I pray will last a lifetime.

In our current sociopolitical world, relationships are more important than ever. And relationships based on genuine, open dialog and our foundational love of God are incredibly strong. Jesus' greatest commandment was that we "love one another......" I pray continually that we will continue to be raw and real with one another and grow together in God's grace as we study His Word.

I love my small group peeps and truly look forward to seeing them everyday. We certainly aren't perfect but as a group we strive to follow Christ in all we say and do.

In Him.......

The Journey Begins.......Again

This blog is a new venture; sort of. I have written, at one time or another up to three blogs at a time. At present this is my second blog that is currently up and running.

This particular blog's title is based on Ephesians 5:18, the second half of the verse.....
....instead be filled with the Spirit

In this verse, in the original Greek script, the word filled means "to be continually and consistently filled." This is a daily occurrence. As Christians, we should pray, in fact, implore God to fill us daily with the Holy Spirit. This truly is a continual seeking-out process.

My prayer for this blog is to encourage you and to give you a "boost" during your day. The posts will be positive, non-political, and (hopefully) humorous!

I hope that you join me!
